Takuya Hosogane MotionReel 2011
A reel difference. I'm a sucker for good solid keyframed animation and Takuya's Showreel possess it in adbundance. It's interestingly setup with shots of him using AE's graph editor (which he's clearly mastered), scrolling on an ipad and animating and rendering within a 3D software. It's clever and quick way to summarise his skill set and immediatley helps the showreel standout. Then the fruits of his labour are displayed, chopped up into a cohesive mashup supported by a perfectly suited electronic sythesised track. It's a joy to behold.
Reel'em and Weep... Marcel Ziul 2010 Reel
Another talented Brazilian samba's his way to centre stage with his awesome reel. Excellently cut, nicely paced with a strong intro and subtle interstitials. It showcases his animation skills tied with his great eye for direction and colour. Ziul makes me drool and weep in awe. Check out his site.
Matt Frodsham Reel 2010
Wowsers. Considering (or not) that Matt had to chuck this reel together for an event he was attending the following day, it ain't half good. Having recently graduated from Salford University, Matt is now looking for freelance and full time work in the north west of England. Having watched his reel he isn't going to be short of offers. He has superb illustration and storytelling skills, just check out 'two inches to the right', as well as a stylish and creative mind when it comes to designing unique identities too. Check out 'Islington Mill Studios' & 'Cartoon Network'. Give him a shout.
EyePic9 2010 Demo Reel
Impressive demo reel from Julien Limouse to showcase the work of his recently launched multimedia studio EyePic9. The reel includes music videos for La Roux 'Bulletproof', Kaiser Chiefs 'Ruby' and the Gorillaz 'Dare' to name but a few. Now based in the south of France, Julien has worked for the likes of Mathematic and Passion Pictures during his 12 years working in the industry. Take a loco!
Reel'em and Weep - Nando Costa
Motionographer is a great source for finding inspiration for motion graphics, animation and graphic design in general. I don't want this blog to be a replica of the site so my aim is to publicise other studios and artists that don't feature on such sites.
However, I'm going to make an exception for Nando Costa as I love his reel. He showcase's a range of different design styles, yet there is a visual connection throughout all the pieces which creates a wonderful flowing reel.
